In the fall of 2015, The Bear wandered into Pascale’s Liquor Square looking for a wine that goes well with salmon. Our staff suggested a dry French Rose, Chateau Real d’Or, since it also goes well with nuts and berries. Impressed with the staff’s knowledge and customer service, The Bear wanted to learn more and asked for a job. So we hired them to be our Nightwatch Bear when the store is closed.

On their time off, they enjoys hanging out in the store modeling attire for different holidays and events.

The Bear’s Selections:

+

Windy Lane Blockbuster Red Blend

After a hard day of forging in the woods, this Bear likes to sit back and drink this robust red blend from Chile. Hints of cedar and cassis in the nose that carry through onto the palate. In the mouth, it’s jam pack with flavors of dark ripe fruit and crushed berries. Excellent with cheese topped Portabello mushrooms.

Sean Minor 4 Bears Pinot Noir

The Bear likes to support their fellow bears who enjoy wine. This California Pinot Noir is a supply dry yet fruit driven medium bodied wine. On the palate, hints of spice are layered within the plush red raspberry flavors. Well balanced, this Pinot Noir pairs well with grilled salmon or mushroom risotto.

Natale Verga Gavi

Dealing with a blond haired intruder in your own home, a bear just wants to relax with a white wine that is “not too hard” or “not too soft” but just right. Natale Verga Gavi is an Italian wine made from the Cortese grape. This delicious wine is both soft and crisp, featuring notes of apple and pears. Goes well with porridge.

Chateau Real d’Or Rose

Does a bear drink Rose in the woods? Yes they do. When sitting by a stream waiting for dinner or eating the day’s catch, this French Rose will satisfy your thrist. Chateau Real d’Or is a blend of three different grapes. The Cinsault grape brings freshness and delicacy to the wine. The Grenache grape gives the wine its silkiness while the Syrah grape gives the Rose complexity.
