Scott started working in the Wine and Liquor business in 1986 in the Mid-Hudson market. In 1996, Scott moved to Syracuse to start work at Liquor Square. Scott has extensive knowledge of wine and has visited the wine regions of New York, California, France and Spain. His wine cellar includes Cabernets, Bordeaux and Vintage Ports. Scott also enjoys dry crisp White wines and Spanish Reds.

Chateau Pericou Bordeaux 2010

With Red Blends being all the rage today, most people tend to forget that French Bordeaux is one of the original Red Blends. Bordeaux uses the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Malbec and sometimes Cabernet Franc grapes. Chateau Pericou has a pretty floral nose with a firm body of cherries and cranberries. It’s rich, intense and vivid yet elegant in style with amazing balance and purity.

Perseverance Cabernet Sauvignon

Perseverance Cabernet blends four different vineyards in four different counties of California, showcasing the attributes of each vineyard. This easy drinking wine has a wonderful nose of blueberry jam with a hint of spice. The mediumed weight body highlights the classic Cabernet Sauvignon flavors of dark fruit, blackberries and chocolate.

Vieira de Plata Albarino

A few years ago, I traveled the wine regions of Spain and tasted a lot of great red wines. But the hidden gem I found on the trip were the Spanish white wines. Just as crisp as Pinot Grigio, yet with more flavor and style. This delicious wine is fresh and aromatic with a vibrant acidity. The palate has a harmonious blend of lemon-lime, honeysuckle, pear and melon flavors. This Albarino was made for seafood.

Dow’s Vintage Port 1994

I have been accruing bottles of Vintage Ports for my wine collection for the past thirty years. At our store we stumbled upon this Vintage Port with impressive wine scores from both The Wine Spectator (Rated 97 points) and Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate (Rated 96 points). Parker said “The massive 1994 is unquestionably the finest Dow I have ever tasted since the 1977.” Quantities are limited.
